June 29, 2017: Higher Education Hearing and Lobbying

Date and time: Thursday, June 29th / 10:00 AM

Location: Massachusetts State House (24 Beacon St, Boston, MA 02133)

On June 29th, the Joint Committee on Higher Education will hear testimony about the House Bill 2236. It is an ambitious piece of legislation that institutes pay parity for adjuncts and also course cancellation fees and other common sense things, statewide. It is going to be an uphill battle because the universities are going to fight it, but has the opportunity to have a big impact.

The hearing is on June 29th at 10:00 am, and afterward it is expected that everyone stop by their state senator/representatives office to tell them personally how important this bill is — to start building support across the state congress. We’ll have lunch for everyone afterward.
