The Work and Family Mobility Act
Lawmakers Senator Brendan Crighton (SD. 1143) and Representative Tricia Farley- Bouvier (HD. 1719) filed the The Work and Family Mobility Act last week in both the House and Senate. If approved, it would permit all qualified residents, regardless of immigration status, to receive a standard license under the state's now-two-tiered system. The legislation would not affect federal Real ID-compliant licenses, which require proof of citizenship or lawful residence as well as a Social Security number.
