Lynch Town Hall (FINALLY!)
Congressman Lynch finally held a real town hall where constituents were allowed to ask question in Braintree on Thursday. Jobs With Justice volunteers demanded that he close the camps where Immigrants are being unlawfully detained and abused with children separated from their parents. Lynch tried to claim that the camps were closed but the crowd responded with clear indication that they were not buying that. The demand to close the camps was made several times with no indication that he would make an attempt to do so. The demand that Lynch hold hearings as a member of the Congressional Committee on Oversight and Reform and the Chairman of its Subcommittee on National Security was similarly dismissed. What was most astonishing was the lack of any sense of moral outrage by Lynch. Fortunately his constituents were clear in their moral outrage with several passionate calls to justice and appropriately outraged reactions to Lynch’s technocratic and at times angry (at his constituents) responses. There were similar reactions by Lynch and the crowd when he was asked about Medicare for All and Impeaching Trump. When Lynch “explained” that everyone who loose their employer based health insurance under Medicare for All, the crowd erupted in cheers.
